Changelog

What's new and improved in Sky Matrix. We ship steadily, most updates arrive automatically the next time you open the app.

Getting around, Progress and lookups
August 2026
  • ImprovedGetting around. The three in-flight sections — Briefing, Inflight and Docs — are on a labelled bar across the bottom, each section’s pages run along a strip under the flight bar, and the app reopens on the page you left. All sections on the Load page is a picture grid of everything.
  • NewProgress page. Live position against the OFP plan: distance flown and to go projected onto the route, plus time and fuel against plan.
  • NewWeather and aircraft lookups on the flight bar. Check an alternate’s METAR, TAF, D-ATIS or NOTAMs — or look up a callsign or registration — without leaving the page you are reading.
  • NewDaylight mode. Heavier text and stronger contrast for direct sun, without making anything bigger. Separate from the text-size slider, because bright and dim need opposite things.
  • NewTell the reader when it is wrong. If the data check shows a misread value, correct it: it is fixed on your device immediately and sent to us as a suggestion.
  • ImprovedNav log. Opens at the last fix you timed on a long sector, DIR TO offers the fixes ahead and marks the ones you bypass as abeam, and tapping a waypoint shows the OFP detail for Emirates, Etihad, PIA and Qatar.
  • NewCrew handover. Pass the live flight — times, nav-log actuals, rest plan, notes — to the relieving pilot with a 6-digit code, or by AirDrop / Quick Share / file when there is no internet.
  • ImprovedSigning in. No PIN prompt within 60 minutes of using the app, and I already have Sky Matrix restores your licence on a new or reinstalled device in one step.
  • NewInstallation guide. An illustrated step-by-step guide for iPhone, iPad and Android.
  • FixedReader accuracy. MORA is shown in feet for every operator (some print hundreds of feet), and Emirates, Etihad, PIA and Qatar fields that were read from the wrong column have been corrected — or left blank where the plan does not print them.
  • ImprovedTimes. Elapsed runs from your actual take-off rather than the scheduled off-blocks time. ATIS has a refresh button, states when it was read, re-checks every 10 minutes, and only offers runways for the page you are on.
New login & AI features
July 2026
  • NewPIN & biometric login. Set a PIN once after activation, then unlock with PIN or Face ID / fingerprint. Your licence code is never re-requested, including across updates.
  • NewRead with AI (beta). An AI OFP reader parses less-common flight-plan layouts and flags any fields it's unsure about.
  • NewAnnouncement Prep. Upload an announcement template (photo, PDF or text) and have it filled with this flight's data and your name, in your chosen language.
  • NewColour-coded, time-windowed NOTAMs, METAR/TAF and D-ATIS on the inflight Nav screen, with automatic fallback to OFP weather when a live source is unavailable.
  • ImprovedOfficial Flightradar24 aircraft lookup for more reliable type and route data.
  • ImprovedAdjustable warm-up / cool-down timers (default 5 minutes) on the Departure and Arrival cards.
  • FixedAircraft type occasionally misread from certain OFPs, the parser now validates against real aircraft designators.
