Announcements, and the numbers you actually type

- FixedThe flight-plan reader updates itself. A device that already had the offline reader never fetched an updated one, so reader improvements stopped reaching the aircraft after the first install — and a plan’s Delta OFP information and planning weather, read by newer readers, showed nothing at all. The reader now refreshes whenever the app updates, and the stored briefing re-parses itself with it.
- FixedThe current ATIS fills the QNH. Where the airport publishes separate arrival and departure broadcasts, the departure page could still read the arrival broadcast’s time and pressure, so the QNH in Altimeters on ground filled with the wrong value or not at all. The departure page now reads its own broadcast, and the QNH fills automatically whenever that broadcast is current — issued within one hour of departure.
- ImprovedDelta OFP information. Where your operator’s plan prints it — the fuel burn and time increase or decrease with cost index or weight change — it is now shown on the Info page exactly as the plan prints it. Release changes keep their own card on the same page.
- ImprovedETOPS alternates: the plan’s planning weather. The ETOPS sheet shows the planning weather the plan itself prints for each alternate — the weather at the arrival window and the minima the plan gives — before the decoded METAR/TAF and the live report.
- NewPA is its own tab. Twenty-one standard announcements — greetings, abnormal and emergency — alongside your own, with your name and rank taken from your profile rather than a drop-down. Dangerous goods moved under Docs as DGR.
- NewTap a gap and type into it. The highlighted details inside an announcement are now editable where you read them, not only in the boxes above. A detail that appears twice fills in both places, and clearing it puts the gap back.
- NewTranslate an announcement. Into the language’s own script or into English letters, kept on the device so it is there in flight. It is a machine translation — have a fluent speaker check it, and the English stays the approved wording.
- NewPhotograph an announcement. Sky Matrix AI reads a printed PA and puts the text in the box for you to check. It transcribes; it does not rewrite. If it cannot read anything, it says so.
- NewYour weights against the limits. The figures you type from the loadsheet are checked against the aircraft limits — take-off weight on Departure, landing weight on Arrival — with the exceedance stated. With nothing entered, the line stays hidden rather than showing an all-clear.
- NewReduced engine taxi in. On the Arrival page, beside the engine cool-down: which engine, and the earliest you may shut it down, worked out from your landing time and your own cool-down minutes.
- ImprovedThe cruise level reaches the cabin. Change the level on the Departure page and the announcement follows. The flight plan still reads whatever the operator printed.
- FixedThe departure ATIS is the departure broadcast. Where an airport publishes separate arrival and departure broadcasts, the Departure page was showing the arrival letter — the one you read back on the radio.
- FixedAutomatic take-off and landing times. Capture had stopped working on any device that had been closed and reopened, which also left elapsed time blank and made it run from the scheduled off-blocks time. The app also no longer jumps to another page by itself when it stamps one.
- FixedSharing a flight. Both Share this flight and Send this flight to my other device had stopped working on every device. They work again.
- ImprovedEvery time is 24-hour, on a dial. The same on every device, whatever the device’s own clock setting, with a Clear on each field.
- ImprovedThe Load page. Feedback, Print, Crew, Share and Send are buttons that open one panel at a time instead of a wall of cards.
- ImprovedReading a plan offline. The offline reader now arrives with a subscription and downloads itself once, automatically, the next time you connect; after that a plan reads with no internet at all. On a trial, plans are read by Sky Matrix AI, which needs a connection.
- ImprovedTouch targets and right-to-left text. The announcement controls are a full 44 px, and an announcement in Urdu, Arabic or Hebrew now reads in the correct order around the details that fill in.
Getting around, Progress and lookups

- ImprovedGetting around. The three in-flight sections — Briefing, Inflight and Docs — are on a labelled bar across the bottom, each section’s pages run along a strip under the flight bar, and the app reopens on the page you left. All sections on the Load page is a picture grid of everything.
- NewProgress page. Live position against the OFP plan: distance flown and to go projected onto the route, plus time and fuel against plan.
- NewWeather and aircraft lookups on the flight bar. Check an alternate’s METAR, TAF, D-ATIS or NOTAMs — or look up a callsign or registration — without leaving the page you are reading.
- NewDaylight mode. Heavier text and stronger contrast for direct sun, without making anything bigger. Separate from the text-size slider, because bright and dim need opposite things.
- NewTell the reader when it is wrong. If the data check shows a misread value, correct it: it is fixed on your device immediately and sent to us as a suggestion.
- ImprovedNav log. Opens at the last fix you timed on a long sector, DIR TO offers the fixes ahead and marks the ones you bypass as abeam, and tapping a waypoint shows the full OFP detail for every built-in format.
- NewCrew handover. Pass the live flight — times, nav-log actuals, rest plan, notes — to the relieving pilot with a 6-digit code, or by AirDrop / Quick Share / file when there is no internet.
- ImprovedSigning in. No PIN prompt within 60 minutes of using the app, and I already have Sky Matrix restores your licence on a new or reinstalled device in one step.
- NewInstallation guide. An illustrated step-by-step guide for iPhone, iPad and Android.
- FixedReader accuracy. MORA is shown in feet for every operator (some print hundreds of feet), and a number of fields that were read from the wrong column have been corrected — or left blank where the plan does not print them.
- ImprovedTimes. Elapsed runs from your actual take-off rather than the scheduled off-blocks time. ATIS has a refresh button, states when it was read, re-checks every 10 minutes, and only offers runways for the page you are on.
